  • Burman University Orchestral Scholarship

    The Burman University Orchestral Scholarship is designed to help students wanting to study music while specializing in an orchestral instrument. This scholarship is funded by donations.
    • Applicants must attend Burman University in the Fall and Winter semesters immediately following their scholarship submission in order to redeem this award.
    • Applicants must complete 12 credits at Burman University each semester in order to redeem this award.
    • This award is not deferrable or cash redeemable, all funds will go toward my Burman education.
    • In order to apply you must submit a video of yourself playing an approved piece on an approved instrument.
    • Any application video will be verified for authenticity before a scholarship is awarded (make sure your face is in the video so we know it is you playing). 
  • Approved instruments:

    • Strings: Violin, Viola, Cello, or Double Bass.
    • Woodwinds: Flute, Oboe (or English Horn), Clarinet, or Bassoon.
    • Brass: French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, or tuba.
    • Percussion: Marimba or Timpani.
  • Approved Pieces:

    • OrchestraExcerpts.com - This link has a large list of accepted excerpts for audtion.
    • Other orchestral pieces may be accepted with the discrection of the Burman Music Deparment.
