• Leadership & Service Scholarship Application

  • Criteria and Information

    Amount: $250 - $2000

    • This award recognizes achievement in leadership and services roles over the last two years. Including at school, in the community, at church, and more.
    • You must have initial admission to Burman University prior to applying for this scholarship.
    • You must be a Canadian citizen or have previously attended a Canadian or USA based high school or post-secondary institution. Please see Burman's website for exceptions.
    • This is a non-renewable award, but there is the opportunity to apply for continuing leadership and service scholarships following your first year at Burman.
    • References are required to verify any claims of service or leadership.
    • Students must register for and complete a minimum of 12 credits per term for each fall and winter semester to claim this scholarship. 
    • Applications and references are reviewed by a committee to determine the final scholarship amount. 
    • Submission Deadlines - Scholarship application and reference deadlines vary per year, but are usually two weeks after the first day of class each semester.

  • At this time the Leadership and Service Entrance/Transfer Scholarship is not available to international students.

  • Current Burman students should fill out the Continuing Leadership and Service Scholarship application. 

  • Check all of the leadership positions or service involvement that you have held or participated in. This scholarship only uses information from the last two years, be sure to indicate which year(s) you participated in each activity.*

    You will be sent a Reference Link in the submission response email, it can be found on the school website, or here: Leadership and Service Reference.  You may wish to send the link to each person that can best provide information regarding your qualifications.  i.e If you held 3 positions for 3 different organizations (church/school/community) then you may need 3 seperate references.
